Wow, we needed a break and some fun, and we got both this weekend. The weather was awesome for the Canada Day weekend, and although we didn't make it to Charlottetown for the Hip concert like we had (sort of) planned, we did have a great time with some friends.
On Saturday, we decided to make the most of the Canada Day celebrations downtown, and we saw the parade, and got a tour of the HMCS Halifax. On the way back, we stopped in at the museum of natural history, 'cause it was FREE, and we love FREE stuff!!!! by this point, me and em had huge blisters on our feet, so we weren't as interested as we should have been, but it really is a pretty good museum, even if i am a bio geek :) That evening we met up with luke, pete and suzanne for some frisbee golf, otherwise known as 'frolf', according to pete. well, that was a fiasco!! for some reason, we decided to play on the commons, and way too close to traffic! probably there were some UFO sitings reported that night, by cars who encountered frisbees landing around them :) we saw most of the fireworks too, from the waterfront.
On sunday, church was awesome as usual, and then we headed off to sarah b's house about 45 minutes away, on the bay of fundy, and had a great time throwing numerous frisbees and balls around, riding a very old and tiny scooter (i am SO getting one when we go to korea!!!), and having a huge mudfight. the boys also decided to try and row out to see on a big log, or something like that. boy stuff i guess. sarah's mum cooked an awesome meal for us, and we had a campfire on the beach, entertainment provided by joe!
Well, on Monday, the fun was not over yet! Joe and Em and I headed to our friend Tonya's house, she lives on a lake, and we went kayaking and canoeing and Joe went fishing. He caught four or five bass, but they weren't big enough to eat, so he threw them back. fishing out of a kayak, on a beautiful day, he was definitely in his element! it was awesome to hang out with Tonya, we'll definitely be making some more trips out there over the summer!
Anyway, back at work now, but fortunately i still like it, and only three more days until the next weekend, hopefully the weather will be just as great, I love summer!!!
