pics

here are some pics from when Joe went home to Wallace for the first day of trout fishing season a couple of weeks ago. I have some from this weekend, but i left them on the camera at home, i'll post them later.

This is Joe with a huge salmon, which you can't keep now, so he threw it back. He caught 8 or 10 that day, as well as a nice trout, which we enjoyed for supper last week, it was yummy!

Joe's dad with a big fish, I don't know if this one is a trout or a salmon, but it is huge anyway. He called a couple of times last week, keeping us up to date on all of the trout he is catching!

Done and Done

wowzers, it has been a long time since I last posted on here. I've had finals for the last couple of weeks, and I haven't really been in the computer lab for a while, so that is why. So, I'm finally done my undergrad degree! All that is left is to collect my diploma! It does feel good, only I haven't had much downtime, as now we are trying to organize all our stuff for our move to Halifax. The apartment we are subletting is furnished, so we don't need to bring too much, but we need to put it in storage. This is somewhat of a problem for us, as of today, our plan is to put as much as we can in Joey's parent's attic, so we'll see how that goes!!
This weekend we went 'home' to Cape Breton, to organize some of our stuff which is still there, for when my parents move out of the farm at the end of June. That was the last time I will most likely be home before it is all packed up and moved, so it was pretty sad to say goodbye to such a beautiful place which has been the family home for 13 years. Believe me, that is REALLY long in our family history of moving places!!
Still, it was awesome to hang out with the family, and the extended family up in margaree, and especially to see Cass who is back from 2 years on the Logos II ship. We had a really good night chatting with Cass and her mum Caroline on Saturday. Sunday Joe and I were up early to head up to Margaree for some trout fishing before church. No luck then, but it was a beautiful day, and we spent the afternoon at the Ross homestead with about a zillion kids. Really couldn't have asked for a better weekend, and now back in Sackville packing again, aaagghhh!!!!
probably the next time I post, we will be in Halifax!!

In Recovery

So, I think it has been a little while since I posted anything on here. Probably because nothing exciting has happened, and also I have been sick with a cold for almost two weeks now. At first it was nothing bad, but then I got what is wonderfully termed, a 'post nasal drip', which translated, means: excrutiating pain in the throat and ears. So I went to the Sackville hospital, waited for 3 hours, and the doctor told me to drink water and sleep with a pillow under my head. After another 3 days of completely zero sleep and lots of pain, I went back for another 2 1/2 hour wait, to return with antibiotics and tylenol 3s. Well, I thought this would be heaven, as the pain would finally be gone. Only to find out that I can't handle the codeine in tylenol 3s, and proceeded to throw up several times all over the bathroom. So that was fabulous. The last few days I have just been left with a cough, which keeps me sleeping on the couch at night, as it is easier to sleep semi-upright. All in all, I missed the deadlines for two papers and missed one end-of-term presentation. What great timing. I'm finally getting caught up with things, and yesterday was my last class ever at MTA. Only exams left! We had a potluck to celebrate, and I made chilli and cornmeal muffins. Apparently my cooking skills are improving greatly.
