5 weeks of uni left!!

so, i guess spring break is officially over. only 5 weeks of school left, and i know it is going to go by SO fast! so much to get done before then.......
spring break was ok, we had a couple of relaxing days here, and then i worked in the library for a few days and got some work done. friday and saturday we were in pei, hanging out with our friends (dorothy especially!), and we went to justin hebb and kara stretch's wedding, which was beautiful. joe wasn't much into the whole dance scene though, so we left early. we didn't make it home particularly early though, as we were held up for half an hour so, 'cause a truck had hit a moose, and the road was blocked off. hopefully there were no serious injuries (other than the moose), but we prayed for them after the ambulance went by. so then we had to turn around and take another route over some very bumpy roads. but we made it home, and back to work and school!
The SPOT (worship night in moncton), led by the Jeff Somer's Band, is tonight, so we are super excited to go there, it is such a blessing to us. so i guess i'd better get some work done before then!!

spring break, woo hoo!

Ok, so, i guess today is the start of spring break at MTA. The last two years i have gone to florida and alabama with Habitat for Humanity. This year I am.....still in Sackville! and it is lonely! all my friends are gone, and joe is at work, so someone should put a post on my blog to make me feel better:)
i actually have big plans for this week regarding getting a lot of schoolwork done, but so far that is not working out so well. I just can't get in the swing of things yet.
oh yeah, and yesterday, i had to go see the doctor, and since i don't have a family doctor here, it was outpatients for me. i was there for 2 1/2 hours, and then they told me it would be another hour and a half! so i had to leave after that, because i had to babysit for a couple from church. so i went back to the hospital this morning, and walked in and out in 15 minutes, tops!
so the moral of the story is: go to outpatients on saturday.
mmm... i got my usual samosas at the farmer's market this morning. joe got his usual beef jerky. mmm...beef jerky.
i may just call this a day and watch a movie or something. i'm working campus security for the joel plaskett concert tonight. they employ me 'cause i'm so tough looking. and i get to wear a blazer with huge shoulder pads to make me look even tougher. it's all pretty hot.

I got all my hair cut off the other day! totally spontaneously, i just felt like it, and i love it! it was all just getting a little too annoying and tangled for me. so, here's a really bad picture of it i just took at home :)

cape breton!

two weekends ago, we were back on the island for my (gemma) dad's 50th birthday bash! we had a great time seeing all the friends and family, and getting to relax for a couple of days. We miss being closer to them, but it's always a good time when we do get together. The birthday was supposed to be scottish-themed, with everyone wearing plaid. Well, we left in a hurry, and didn't bring anything, so we took emily and finlay to the dollar store with us to find some plaid items. All we could find were st. patrick's day stuff! So one picture is finlay looking like a leprechaun!

daytrip

ok, so valentine's day was great. joe cooked supper, and i got flowers, and scrabble :) how romantic! actually, i've been wanting the game for a while, now that we are an old married couple and everything.....

last weekend we went out to hopewell rocks on a beautiful day, so i thought i'd post some pics. it seems like spring, the weather is so weird!

so i'm pretty sure i still haven't figured out how to put these pictures in properly, with captions and everything. one day i'll get it!

Well, today is the very exciting Valentine's Day. Woot woot. Well, Joe and I were dating this time last year, and I made him a very nice card, which I put my very blood, sweat and tears into. In return, I got.....nothing. Yup. I did instead, get a speel about how Valentine's day was invented by Hallmark just to make money, and why should there be a special day to tell someone you love them, when you should every day, yada yada yada. While all of this may be true, it is still nice to get a little something special, you know, a token gift, chocolates, card, letter, song, whatever. SO, having communicated this to my now-husband, I guess we'll wait and see if anything happens when he gets home from work tonight :)

OK, so I'm really just trying out this thing to see how everything works, we don't have internet at home, so I can't post any of our pictures unless I bring them out here to school. So, here are two pictures I have here: One is our engagement picture, which happens to be from the campus pub (long story), and the other is a bunch of our friends here, with a sign for our friend who is in Edinburgh right now (another long story). They are both pub pictures, because I took them off the weekly photo website. I'll try and get some more soon!
